Hiring a Football Videographer

What a Football Videographer Should Do for You

Football film is all about the snap. Twenty-two players move at once, the ball can disappear into a pile, and the play that matters for a lineman or a corner is often nowhere near the ball. A football videographer has to know the game well enough to stay on the right player, from the right angle, every down.

On game day that means multi-camera sideline coverage of the game, senior night or playoff run. After the whistle it becomes a cinematic recap, social clips for the program and the families, and the raw material for each player's recruiting highlight film. The same crew has filmed the CFP National Championship in Atlanta and produced the Stanley x Notre Dame campaign with Riley Leonard and Jeremiyah Love.

Putting together a recruiting film? The principles in our highlight film guide apply to football too: best plays first, make it obvious who you are, keep it short. Our complete guide to sports videography covers how to choose a crew, and college players working with brands should read what NIL content creation involves.

Choosing Your Film

Recruiting Film, Game Coverage or Feature?

A football highlight film, a Friday-night recap and a player feature do three different jobs. Here is what each one is for.

Recruiting Highlight Film

Your best snaps from the season, cut so a college coach sees your position skills in the first 20–30 seconds, with a 60-second cut for social.

Best for: High school players building a recruiting profile, and seniors heading into camp and signing season.

Game-Day & Sideline Coverage

Multi-camera sideline cinematography of a game, senior night, rivalry week or playoff run, cut into a cinematic recap and social clips.

Best for: High school programs, booster clubs and families who want the night to look like Saturday TV.

Player Feature & Brand Content

Spotlights, day-in-the-life pieces and NIL content built around one athlete, the same kind of work we produce for national brands.

Best for: College athletes building an NIL presence, and brands partnering with them.

What a Football Recruiting Film Needs

  1. Lead with your best plays. Many coaches decide in the first 20–30 seconds whether to keep watching.
  2. Identify yourself before every clip. A spotlight or arrow on the snap means nobody has to count jersey numbers.
  3. Show your position, not just touchdowns. Linemen need blocks, DBs need coverage, and every coach wants to see effort away from the ball.
  4. Open with a title card. Name, class, position, height, weight, school, GPA, verified times if you have them, and contact info.
  5. Keep the recruiting cut short. A few minutes of your best work, with full game film available when a coach asks.

FAQ

Football Videography FAQ

What is End Zone Editz?

End Zone Editz is Mack Media's football content brand — the football counterpart to Hoop Editz. We cover high school and college football with the same cinematic, documentary-style approach.

Do you film high school football games?

Yes. We film high school football games, create player highlight reels for recruiting, and produce cinematic game recaps. We also cover football camps and combines.

What should a football recruiting highlight film include?

Your best plays first, a spotlight or arrow so a coach knows which player you are on every snap, and clips that show your position skills rather than only touchdowns. Open with a title card (name, class, position, height, weight, school, GPA and contact info) and keep the recruiting cut to a few minutes.

Do you film college football and large events?

Yes. Our football work includes the 2025 CFP National Championship in Atlanta, Big Ten Conference events, and a Stanley commercial campaign with Notre Dame's Riley Leonard and Jeremiyah Love, alongside high school coverage across Indiana and the Midwest.

What does a football videographer do on game day?

Multi-camera sideline coverage of the game, senior night or playoff run, shot so every snap that matters is in frame. That footage becomes a cinematic recap, player highlight clips and social cuts, and it feeds recruiting films for the athletes on the field.

Do you travel for football games and events?

Yes. We are based in Indianapolis and film football nationwide, from high school games across Indiana and the Midwest to the CFP National Championship in Atlanta.

Where is Mack Media located?

We're based in Indianapolis, Indiana. We travel nationwide for sports events, brand campaigns, and weddings — no travel restrictions.
