Sports Videography

Sports Videography Hub

Expert guides on highlight films, game-day coverage, documentary content, and everything sports videography — from practitioners who've filmed for Adidas, Gatorade, and the Big Ten.

The three jobs sports video does

Most people asking for "sports video" want one of three quite different things. A recruiting highlight film exists to get an athlete seen by college coaches, and it lives or dies in its first twenty seconds. Game-day coverage documents an event for the programme, the school or the brand paying for it. Documentary content tells the story around the sport rather than the sport itself. They need different crews, different gear and different edits.

What coaches actually watch

Coaches watch a lot of film and very little of each one. The clips that survive open on the athlete's best plays rather than building to them, make it obvious which player to watch, and keep the run tight. Length is not the flex — a short reel that holds attention beats a long one that loses it.

Why grassroots coverage is the real training ground

We film fifteen to twenty Prep Hoops Circuit tournaments a year and cover the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League, where multiple courts run at once and social content is expected while the session is still live. That volume is what makes the national work possible: the same crew workflows that hold up across a full grassroots season are what let us cover the CFP National Championship or a Big Ten fan fest without drama.

Turnaround, honestly

Highlight films typically come back in one to two weeks. Same-day social cuts are available for tournaments where the content is worth more immediately than it is polished. Anything documentary takes longer, because the story usually is not finished when the shooting is.
